battery plus iconSome people don’t realize that when they get their brand new, super fast up to date laptop from the shop, that it is restricted to balanced battery performance. All it takes is a couple of clicks and you re-gain the full potential of the laptop. Its worth noting that this uses more battery power. So, you could use it selectively, when you know you may be away from a power source for a while. There are usually three default power profiles built in to Vista & 7. Power Save, Balanced and High Performance. Although, I have seen machines that didn’t have the High Performance profile setup. However, it is simple to setup… I’ll show you in a minute.

Step One

Click on this icon.. on the bottom right of your screen… battery icon 7

Step Two

Choose High Performance. profile…and that’s it.. simple quick tip. So what if it only offers you Power Save and Balanced? Then click here more power options at the bottom of that pop up box. create find profile Either choose the drop down for Hide additional plans and you may find it there or click on Create a power plan on the left hand side. You’ll have the chance to create one. Did you enjoy reading this tip? Please let me know in the comments.

    • Hey. Thanks for stopping by.. well it cant be a lack of hardware.. :)
Does the PC have loads of “crapware” installed.. Lots of software you won’t use?
      If so, delete it…

Press control alt and esc and look at the processes.. are there more than 50? Is the percentage jumping up very high?
