A while back I got very excited when Googlemonster decided to do Turn-By-Turn navigation free for Android phones. It is still only available to the USA, whilst all XDA and ROM genius modders keep trying to get it working outside there. In fact, the news was big, it really, really hurt Garmin and TomTom. Google Maps Navigation for Android 2.0
Way back in 2005, Google announced Google Maps. In the beginning it was fairly basic. Its now available for most phones and has some good features. One major point is that it doesn’t need GPS to somewhat guess your location. Its very handy for finding locations, restaurants, etc with the phone numbers and addresses.
